Advanced Settings – Failed to Connect

  1. Sometimes, iOS devices may automatically adjust port numbers without notification, potentially causing connection issues. If confirmation fails, or you encounter a connection error in the future, double-check that the port numbers were set up correctly.
    1. Frist the outgoing ports using these steps.
      • On the account settings page (Home -> Settings -> Mail -> Accounts -> Account Name), tap the "Outgoing Mail Server" name to inspect its port settings.
      • The outgoing port is always 465 for Ecliptic Software Solutions cPanel accounts.
    2. Select "Done" to return to the account settings page.
  2. Next, check the incoming port number.
    1. At the bottom of the Account page, choose the Advanced option.
    2. Ensure that "Use SSL" is toggled on (in green).
      • If using IMAP, Server Port should be 993.
      • If using POP, Server Port should be 995.
    3. Go back to the Account page and your account should now connect without issue.
